Mama's Boy is a solid pizza joint in Oakland that provides a New York style pizza with well cooked dough that has a nice droop in the front, good flavor, and nice service. Would also recommend tapping their Hot Honey sauce on your slices to give it a little kick. Easy to order at the front and they have seating both downstairs and upstairs. There's also some alcohol options here as well. Overall, a great place in the area for an affordable bite and good pizza.

Mama's Boy lived up to the hype as one of the best slices in Oakland. Crispy, not floppy, a well balanced sauce, and perfectly cupped pepperoni. The crust was a tad more done than I typically go for, but the hot honey touch with the spicy pep is enough for me to overlook it. Plenty of beers to wash it down with, and super friendly service = I'll definitely be back.

Time to give Mama's Boy that elusive 5th star! Since ordering for my trick or treat crew last October I've dined in at Mama's Boy, had my husband pick up, and last night had four pizzas delivered for a backyard shindig. This place is legit, reliable, and churns out excellent pies. I've sampled widely of their offerings and can say this: it's all good, but don't miss the Burrata pizza. It's the one everyone wanted more of at last night's gathering. And if you're hosting a lot of folks, get the large ranch (16 oz).

For a summer treat, I picked up a pepperoni pizza for my underwater chess club! Mama's Boy pizza comes in two sizes, single slices, and 20inch pies. I opted for a 20 inch pie in order to feed my club. I also opted for a side of their house ranch. The pizza itself has a generous amount of pepperoni, just how I like it! It is thin, and flavorful, not too cheesy or saucey; perfectly balance and not greasy. However, I do have to agree with others that once the pizza cools for more than fifteen minutes (i.e take out), the slice becomes tough and less palatable. Their house ranch is definitely a must add, it is herby and fresh, a wonderful addition to the pizza slice! With this being said, if you have a large group that wants a good NY style pizza slice, be sure to grab Mamas Boy, and maybe an insulated bag. Otherwise, dine in for hot single slice pizza!
